Congratulations Graduates!
This weekend, we had the opportunity to create stunning flowers for Camas High School and Washougal High School graduations. We have so much fun coming up with new ideas every year. We are so thankful that our schools are open to us “working our magic” and creating something really different each year! We always have this “how can we top last year” mindset.
Camas Highschool’s graduation peice consisted of tropicals in shades of red and white…Stunning ginger, dendrobium orchids, anthurium, bamboo, and tropical foliages created the look.
For Washougal High School graduation, the sky is the limit. This year, we created an awesome vegetive style arrangement of roses, tropical foliages such as black hala and orange monstera and kalanchoe plants. To top this festive look off, we created books in stacks. Super fun!
Sympathy flowers beyond…at Flowers Washougal
Sympathy flowers can create a calm and relaxing mood for family as they are greiving. This past week, we were given the opportunity to create flowers for a stunningly simple funeral held in Brush Prairie. With roses, orchids, tulips, snowball viburnum, calla lilies, and maiden hair fern, these flowers were quite dramatic.
It’s Mother’s Day Week! Don’t Forget!
Hey everyone! We are busier than bubblers right now preparing for one of the largest holidays in a flowershop! It’s Mother’s Day week at Flowers Washougal! Let’s face it…There are tons of things you can do for your mom, but Flowers are a great way to show you love her. Either beautiful cut flowers, or something a bit longer-lasting like a fabulous plantscape.

Give us a call today…we will knock Mom’s socks of…if you let us!
Memorializing a Barber…
This tribute was ordered by a family for a well-known barber in our area. We were not surprised, when they called and ordered a Barber Pole made out of flowers. You see, that is our specialty. We like doing floral sculptures! We have created logos out of flowers, smiley faces, pather paws, why not a Barber Pole? Erik headed to the hardware store. A little of this, some of that, a few flowers….and LED Light for the top…Viola!
Hawaiian Festival at Esther Short Park!
Each year, we create beautiful tropical arrangements for the Hawaiian Festival in Esther Short Park. Sari Aho of Aho Construction graciously pays for our creations each year! This year, we pushed the limits of our creativity by building box structures that emcompassed fabulous flowers such as anthurium, oncidium orchids, heliconia and fabulous tropical foliages. To add drama, one design was created vertical from the ground up and the other was created vertical hanging from the top down! Great fun!

Owens Corning Corporate Event – Day Two
This week, we have kept quite busy thanks to Owens Corning employee appreciation event. The second day was held at Multnomah Falls Restaurant. 40 people attended a beautiful dinner coordinated by Amanda Houghton of Life’s a Party Event Planning and Consulting. For this event, we created stunningly tall arrangements inspired by the beautiful northwest surroundings of the falls. Branches, nests, succulents, ferns, mosses, feathers, rocks and grasses were all incorporated into the theme.

White Roses, hydrangeas and calla lilies added the crisp clean feel to the event.
Owens Corning Corporate Event – Day One
This week, we have kept quite busy thanks to Owens Corning (a client of ours) and their 2 day employee appreciation event starting at Springhouse Cellars Winery. 50 people attended a beautiful dinner provided by Niki Davis of Nicolette’s Catering and coordinated by Amanda Houghton of Life’s a Party Event Planning and Consulting. We created lavish centerpieces, inspired by the venue and wine corks…hundreds of them! Julie comes up with some awesome ideas…but this one took the cake!

Long arrangements consisted of grapes, corks, grapevines and hundreds of red carnations paved together in a sea of red, green and cork brown.
Look close! You will see some corks entwined on vines!
Niki’s buffet arrangement was created in a bowl brimming with corks and corks on grapevine. Shots of vibrant red crocosmia added the life to the party!
The Parade of Homes 2010 – VIP Event
Whew! We have been very busy the last couple weeks. This special event sponsored by Vancouver’s BIA hosted over 250 attendees at the new Parade of Homes site in Ridgefield, WA at Green Gables and Pioneer Canyon. We had the great opportunity to create stunning tropical arrangements for the event thanks to Amanda from Life’s a Party Event Planning and Consulting and Niki from Nicolette’s Catering.

These Stunning Arrangements were created in cone shaped containers on stands. Anthurium, orchids, heliconia, bamboo, crocosmia and tropical foliages were combined together in this dramatic look.
Tall arrangements towered above many of the tables with bamboo, ti leaves and crocosmia. Simple and stunning!
On other tables, low bowls of river stone, bamboo, palms and anthurium dressed up the tables.
On Niki’s buffet tables, we created long tablescape arrangements of tropical splendor! Overall a really great event! Thanks to everyone that referred us and for such a great opportunity to show what Flowers Washougal can do!
