Autumn Wedding Palettes
This time of year, generally brides switch into autumnal colors….radiant with golden yellows. burnt oranges, and russet. This year the early autumn weddings have been more about muted tones of coral, peach, soft green, and silver.
More than that. it’s all about texture, texture, texture. Pictured below is Grace’s bouquet. It is filled with an abundance of interesting texture, from the spikey Brovelia to smooth brown fern curls, ruffled ‘Peach Peony’ roses from Peterkort Roses to fragrance freesia and simple calla lilies. All these different textures come together to create a soft romantic northwest look. To top it off, a birch pole creates the handle of the bridal bouquet. Stunning don’t you think?
Kristin’s bouquet below creates a different story. A Juxtaposition of materials, classics meet woodland in a wildly wonderful way. Soft ‘Vendela’ roses from Peterkort Roses are paired with freesia, sweetpeas and hydrangea; all the classics. Soft dusty miller, poppy pods, and japanese anemone pods; the woodland bits.
A close up of Erin’s bouquet reveals all kinds of wonderful things. Here in a more casual garden feel for early autumn, roses are featured. ‘Peach Peony’ ‘Talea’ and ‘Alexandra’ roses come together with ‘Autumn Joy’ sedum, dried poppy pods, scabiosa pods and ‘Rabbit Foot’ ferns. Almost like you just headed out in a beautiful garden and gathered all your favorites together. Stunning yet perfectly casual for an afternoon wedding.

Memorializing a Barber…
This tribute was ordered by a family for a well-known barber in our area. We were not surprised, when they called and ordered a Barber Pole made out of flowers. You see, that is our specialty. We like doing floral sculptures! We have created logos out of flowers, smiley faces, pather paws, why not a Barber Pole? Erik headed to the hardware store. A little of this, some of that, a few flowers….and LED Light for the top…Viola!
Best Of Luck Dustin and Kristin!
This past weekend, we had 3 more weddings. Dustin and Kristin tied the knot in the Rhodedendron Garden in Portland. She chose beautiful flowers in deep shades of purple with accents of lime green. Turquiose ribbon offset the colors and balanced the addition of peacock feathers!
Blooming oregano, scabiosa, hypericum, seeded eucalyptus and feathers add contrast and whimsy to the completed bouquet!
Congratulations Ami…You are a beautiful bride!
Ami’s beautiful bouquet created by Julie consisted of buttery ‘Alexandra’ roses, old fashioned roses, dahlias, sage green hydrangeas, calla lilies, phalaenopsis orchids, fern curls and crespedia balls. Simply soft and lucious.

Julie also created stunning vibrant bouquets for her attendants that coordinated in shades of yellows and a touch of blue. Dahlias, roses, tulips and veronica completed the look.

Because we are all about detail, not a step if missed when it comes to the smaller parts of a wedding. Although they are small, we find the boutonnieres and corsages to be just as important in the overall wedding. Check out these simple and fun boutonnieres Julie created for Ami’s guys…
Beautiful simple bubble bowls brimming with hydrangeas, roses, and dahlias in lemon filled glass bowls and curly willow swirled bowls completed a stunningly simple outdoor reception.
Hawaiian Festival at Esther Short Park!
Each year, we create beautiful tropical arrangements for the Hawaiian Festival in Esther Short Park. Sari Aho of Aho Construction graciously pays for our creations each year! This year, we pushed the limits of our creativity by building box structures that emcompassed fabulous flowers such as anthurium, oncidium orchids, heliconia and fabulous tropical foliages. To add drama, one design was created vertical from the ground up and the other was created vertical hanging from the top down! Great fun!

Summertime Weddings!
Julie’s garden is in full swing, which means, each and every wedding we do, incorporates a little bit of her amazing love of gardening and funky cool flowers and northwest stuff!
Here’s a prime example of what we can do, thanks to Julie and her fabulous garden of wonderment! (Each and every flower came from her garden!)
Best of Luck to Morey & Jillian!
Our greatest passion in design currently evolves around a northwest organic look. Not every bride is suitable to suggest such a look, but when they come to us and say they love anything “weird and succulent” we know it’s time to pull out all the stops!
Morey and Jillian tied the knot at Mcmenamin’s Edgefield this past weekend. With colors of deep yellow white and sage green, we created textural bouquets for her girls and her. Dahlias, kangaroo paws, hydrangeas, succulents, billy balls and fragrant freesia were all incorporated.

Her bouquet of the same stunning varieties also incorporated a stunning surprise element, phalaenopsis orchids. This avante garde combination made her bouquet extra special!
Congratulations Steve & Angela!
This past weekend, we created vividly wonderful bridal flowers for Angela and Steve. Members of one of our weekly church deliveries at The Church of Good Shepherd in Vancouver, they knew where to go to get incredible flowers for their special day!
Angela selected miniature gerbera daisies, calla lilies, iris, and hydrangea among other wonderful touches. Her colors in fuchsia, yellow, purple and lime green were anything but bland!

Erik decided to surprise her with a few fun touches such as wild sweetpeas (provided by Julie) trachelium and stunningly bright verbena!
A simple and stunning cake was created by Megan at Cakes by Design which we embellished with all of the wonderful flowers incorporated into Angela’s wedding theme.
